NEIL ADAM AND JUDY TURNER

FeAturing Robert Louis Stevenson

After many years playing the folk music circuit both as a duo, in bands and for the last 15 years with The Melbourne Scottish Fiddlers, Neil and Judy are putting time again into acoustic musical events and festival appearances together.  Their most recent project, the culmination of a long time passion for Robert Louis Stevenson’s writing, involves them in constructing a show based on his poetry, put to music and arranged by Neil and Judy. The CD of these songs is just released, most songs recorded recently, others over the last 10 years with various ensembles. In the show, the songs are juxtaposed with extracts from RLS’s writing (including letters and diaries) and beautiful contemporary photographs of the fascinating life of one of Scotland’s greatest writers of the 19th Century. The combination of beautiful music and the obvious genuine affection of one husband and wife team for another (somewhat better known!) makes for a heartwarming, interesting and gently humorous event.
