A Long Way From Home

A long way from homeA Long Way From Home, recorded in late 2005 immediately after the Club’s successful tour of New Zealand, and released in early 2006, further expanded on the theme of music from the broader Scottish Diaspora. The CD was produced by Hugh McDonald.

Celebrating 10 years of  fantastic music, friendship and fun, this 2006 CD from the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club features some of the best players of Scottish music to be found in Australia under the musical leadership of Judy Turner, this time turning their attention to Scottish music old and new that has found its way to the Antipodes.  There are traditional songs given a new twist, new songs given a traditional twist and tunes from all parts of the Scottish diaspora. And all with 30 fiddlers! Recorded straight after a two week tour of New Zealand, the band is in top form.
