CD 6. Homecoming Produced by two of Australia’s top Folk Musicians/Producers, Hugh McDonald and Chris Stone, this CD is our most adventurous outing to date. Having just completed a successful tour of Scotland (including Shetland) we got together to record the basic tracks during late November 2015 and released the CD in April 2016. Just about every track has been arranged by a different Club member or group of members including: Our 2014 “Travelling Fiddlership” players, several original compositions from Club members and our Cool Young Players who have put together a fabulous set. CD 5. Of an Island was recorded between March 2011 and May 2012 and was released at a concert on 21st July 2012. Its theme takes in the music of Scotland and the various islands that Scottish Music moved to, with emigrants. It also marks the transition since retirement of founding Musical Director, Judy Turner and appointment of Matthew Robertson to that position. In contrast to previous CDs, the musical arrangements have been undertaken by various members of the Club. Click here for further details including track listings, background and purchasing details.
CD 4. Gates of Gold, recorded and released during 2008, extended the Scottish theme and included some original compositions that won major awards at the Tamworth Festival. The CD itself won the major Fiddle award at Tamworth and was voted "Best Australian Folk CD of 2010". Click Here for further details including track listings, background and purchasing details.
CD 3. A Long Way From Home, recorded in late 2005 immediately after the Club's successful tour of New Zealand, and released in early 2006, further expanded on the theme of music from the broader Scottish Diaspora. CD 2. Reel Cool, recorded and released during 2002, expanded on the music of Red Hot Scots and explored music from a broader selection of Scottish heritage, including Shetland and Canadian music. Click here for further details including track listings, background and purchasing details.
